(maids, health care takers, personal attention if required)

This retirement home ( & Adult Living Facility) is located on a scenic hillside overlooking the ocean,  bay, country side of Luperón a small city (less than 3,000 people) on the northern coast of Dominican Republic (pictures attached). This area is a sail boater’s dream, a safe harbor from storms and a hidden away tourist area. Our home is a family style living.

Our family (small group) is looking for other individuals who want to bring their life experiences to share with us. Retirees and individuals who want to experience the local flavor of the Dominican people and individuals who may be in need of assisted living or individuals that are aging and concerned of their future living condition for their remaining years or maybe your looking for a little adventure in life. Our goal is to find others like ourselves who would like to retire to a scenic peaceful domicile and remain active in living.

I’m a retired firefighter/paramedic (over 30 years Miami-Dade) who has undertaken the challenge of living another 40 years. My endeavor is to get other individuals who have the similar goals, come stay with us. Visit us as a vacation or come and stay! We have rooms in the main house or if you need your privacy come and stay in a hotel room ($20 a day). If your young enough and still making your own decisions on were you live and want to feel alive and vibrant, come on down. This is a lovely place to grow old!

Make the change while you’re young enough to enjoy all that’s going on here in Luperón. This is an affordable family type living, not only here at the house but your family extends to the small community of sail boaters and foreigners here in Luperón.

If you want to live in your own house, and have extended care that is available at a monthly cost of around $3200 per month depending on what your needs are. This would include food, cleaning and care taking for 2 adults living in there own home. Call us for details and let us know what your needs are.

We have planned this home to be a small, family like environment and to be affordable for retired individuals. I invite you to come and stay at the facility for yourself and/or family and friends. The residences of this home will be encouraged to participate in the healthy local diet of fresh fish, foods and fruits, with vitamins and supplements for a long healthy life. Please come bring your life experiences and enrich our home.

Church

We have a bible study on Wednesday morning on the balcony were the local nondenominational church (mostly boaters) come to worship and study (picture attached). The group range in ages from 40-84 years old, many of which live on boats. There are many other weekly events at the local bar-restaurants for us gringos. Sundays at Puerto Blanco Marina we have a flea market for the boaters and locals, followed by a barbeque dinner. Wednesday night is movie night at La Yola's outdoor restaurant. Some of us assist at the English speaking mission school, were we are greatly needed and are encourage in making a difference in some of the local children’s lives. Being a missionary teacher is an adventure that will change many lives for God and it often radically changes your life as well, it gives my life meaning (browed from Melody's mission school website).

We have Wireless internet from satellite service. We have TV and cell phone service. Personal services are available, hair care, pedicure, manicure, massages, laundry and more. The current ages of residence range from 1 to 79 years of age. One of our frequent residence and my friends a retired fire chief, he stays here while he is waiting to build his future home. He plans to have a small self sufficient farm (five acres).

We also have a house in Santiago (a city of about 500,000) were we visit, go shopping and do all the tourist like things. This is the country's second largest city and very clean and modern. We have a third house in the mountains (hills) of San Jose de la Matas it is in a community of wealthy local residence in a country like setting. These house are second homes for the locals from larger cities. It is a new community just opened by the Government there is only 100 houses a hotel and a helicopter port. It is a very relaxed place to visit it has an altitude of about 1650' and is very cool at night (in the 60 degree area I'm from Miami that's cool).  This area reminds me of the Carolina area There are several rivers were the locals go to swim in the cold mountain water to refresh themselves on holidays. All these house are available and part of the package living here.

Come stay with us for a week, a month or a life time!

New ALF Project to start construction 2010

A new project is sited to build a Retirement Home & Assisted Living Facility in Dominican Republic is on the drawing board. It will be located on the north coast in a beach town & boating resort area near the city of Luperon. This facility will be built next to the bay (west side) and the ocean on the north side. Phase I has a view of the ocean and will be located on 2000 sq meters. The property has been purchased.

Plans are being drawn by a Miami base engineering company, when completed the plans will be sent to a Santiago, Engineering Company to review for local building codes and for local permitting purposes. Ground breaking will not take place until 2010. The contractor chosen is a local German who has been building in the area for over ten years.

The 400 sq ft individual units will be prepaid and are scheduled to cost $80,000 per unit only 10 units are scheduled to be built to keep a family type atmosphere. The facility will include a large recreational pool area, a dinning area and a library room. The residence building will be walking distance to the beach about a quarter of a mile. A hospital and dental office are 5 minute drive, and some of the best hospitals and medical facilities in the country are 40 miles away in Santiago.

One of the largest hotels on the North Coast is ¼ a mile away on the beach.

Members will be encouraged to take part in many of the local events. There is a non denominational worship in the immediate area on the Puerto Blanco Bay. The city of Luperon is a small city wear cows and goats still walk the city streets.

Members are encouraged to use local dentistry and medical facilities. The current cost is less than your co-payments are with a good PPO in the United States. Doctors in this area (some of the best) still spend quality time with their patients.

We have deposits on 2 units, eight units are still available. All monies will be s-scrolled in a US Bank until construction is started, Then the monies will be released by percentage of completion as prearranged by contact and inspection.
